Scaloni urges Argentina to move forward without blaming players

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has denied criticism of his players and urged them to move forward after their latest defeat to Paraguay.

Argentina lost 2-1 to Paraguay in South American 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Thursday สมัคร ufabet, winning just one of their last four matches. 

Scaloni said after the game: “I’m not here to criticize my players, I’m here to support them. We know it’s going to be a tough game. We’re here to move forward.”

“In the first half we played well, but the first moments of the second half made it more difficult. We have to congratulate the opponent, they defended very well.”

“We hope to get back on track. The team is still consistent and confident. That’s the main thing. We never give up and we’re hungry to compete.”

Next up, Argentina, who still lead the South American zone with 22 points from 11 matches, will return to play at home against Peru on Tuesday, November 19.
